  5. The PCC/MX Multiport Subsystem, like the PCC/Multiport Cards, is a
  6. high-performance front-end processor. The PCC/MX allows clusters of serial
  7. devices and multiuser terminals to be situated up to 1000 metres from the host
  8. PC. Each cluster controller supports eight serial and one parallel port. A
  9. single PCC/MX Multiport Subsystem with four cluster controllers has nine
  10. processors working together to make light work of the heaviest serial traffic.
  11. The PCC/MX system occupies only one slot, uses no IRQ and requires only 8Kb of
  12. high memory. Controller units connect via simple twisted-pair cabling.
